Job Description

As a member of our dynamic MLSE Community Engagement Team, you will be at centre court of the action. Reporting to the Manager of Engagement, you will be responsible for coordinating In-Reach initiatives, external group and school excursions to MLSE LaunchPad, creating collaborative initiatives, overseeing positive program experiences for youth in programs, and maintaining the strong family culture we have at MLSE LaunchPad.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the administration, planning, evaluation, and growth of the youth engagement strategy.

As the Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be responsible for the overall positive experience of the MLSE LaunchPad members participating in our amazing programs, cool opportunities and special events. Your Team:

Our “one team” approach means you'll work in collaboration with the Sport Programming and Member Engagement Teams. Both teams pride themselves on creating the absolute best experience for youth in our programming, and put our “Youth First, Always” value at the core of their work. We are passionate about the community, building and maintaining real relationships, the quality of our programming, and, above all, the experience of the youth and staff in our spaces.

What You Will Be Doing:

· Work with the Manager, Community Engagement to develop and execute a youth engagement strategy to support the positive experience of youth in MLSE LaunchPad programs

· Provide direct in-reach support for multi-year programs, new programs and programs serving specific populations

· Maintain relationships with local high schools and elementary schools to ensure teachers, youth and parents are aware of opportunities and feel supported during excursions to MLSE LaunchPad

· Assist with scheduling and implementation of Youth Volunteerism and related marketing activities, campaigns, and strategies

· Generate promotional materials such as brochures, public presentations, newsletters and email updates

· Lead, promote and represent the MLSE LaunchPad Youth Advisory Committee within the space

· Support youth-focused special events and initiatives to build and sustain engagement among existing members of the facility

· Work across teams to help plan, organize and execute Summer Camps, March Break and other holiday programming, PA Days and other special events, actively promoting a comfortable and welcoming environment for youth of all ages

You are versatile, flexible, and willing to work within changing priorities with enthusiasm

• We interact with numerous diverse communities and community organizations, as well as departments across Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.

You are highly organized and can manage and prioritize competing responsibilities

• We work in a fast-paced environment with a number of different programs, events and administrative priorities running simultaneously. Being organized and working as a team are key components of your role.
• Strong critical thinking and conceptual skills to prioritize multiple programs, events and engagements.

You are a collaborator

• We are one team, and every decision we make impacts someone else. Understanding who to bring in and how is important.

You have experience supporting, planning and executing both programs and special events

• Many of our projects will include both programmatic and events-based components and will require support planning, delivering, and debriefing components.
• With so many stakeholders, it is crucial to maintain high professional standards with the ability to see the big picture while managing the practical details.

You have an understanding of “Youth First Always” and the importance in a youth sport context (or a willingness to learn)

• All of what we plan and do in our program centers around the positive experience of the youth we serve.

You care about how inequity in sport continues to impact girls and racialized and marginalized communities, and are committed to breaking down the barriers to youth access in sport

• You have familiarity with and a passion for applying anti-oppressive and anti-racist principles to your work and engage in continued learning in these areas.
  

REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years working in community engagement or youth in-reach/outreach
• Strong experience in developing and supporting programs
• -Passionate about sport and believe sport can change lives
• Experience overseeing budgets
• Proven track record of working with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
• Proven track record of working with senior business, government and non-profit leaders
• Demonstrated experience supervising staff and volunteers

Job Posting Compensation Range/Rate:

$50,000-55,000
