We're more than a workplace. We are a team of passionate people, boldly building the future of sport and entertainment, together. We believe in the power of play, the strength of collaboration, and the energy that comes from showing up with purpose.

From the ice to the pitch, the hardwood to the digital arena, we’re proud to be the driving force behind the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL), the Toronto Raptors (NBA), Toronto FC (MLS), Toronto Argonauts (CFL) and development teams with the Toronto Marlies (AHL), Raptors 905 (NBA G League), Toronto FC II (MLS NEXT Pro League) and Raptors Uprising Gaming Club, the Toronto Raptors Esports franchise in the NBA 2K League.

We bring these teams – and world-class entertainment – to life at our iconic venues, including Scotiabank Arena, BMO Field, Coca-Cola Coliseum, Ford Performance Centre, BMO Training Ground, and OVO Athletic Centre. Off the field, we serve up elevated dining at e11even, Real Sports, and our signature club spaces like Hot Stove Club, ScotiaClub, and Platinum Club.

Through MLSE Foundation and MLSE LaunchPad, we use the power of sport to help youth facing barriers reach their full potential. Since 2009, we’ve invested more than $45 million into Ontario communities -- and we’re just getting started.

This is what it means to be One MLSE: a culture where everyone plays a role, everyone belongs, and everyone contributes to something bigger than themselves.

So, if you're ready to play with purpose, grow with passion, and win as one, we’d love to have you on our team.

Job Description

MLSE is looking for a strategic storyteller and pitch development specialist to join the Partnership Solutions team within Global Partnerships. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of strategy, copywriting and presentation design, transforming commercial opportunities, audience insights and partnership ideas into compelling stories that help win new business.

You will lead the development of high-impact, client-facing pitch materials from initial story architecture and strategic positioning through copywriting, presentation development and final execution. You will turn complex information into simple, persuasive narratives; write sharp, executive-level copy; and bring those stories to life through highly polished presentations.

This is not solely a presentation design role. As the Creative Solutions Strategist, you will determine what story we should tell, how we should tell it and how that story should come to life visually, while working with Junior Designers on custom creative, mockups and more advanced design execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development of compelling, high-impact pitch materials for priority new business opportunities, from initial brief through final presentation.
  • Build the strategic narrative and story architecture for pitches, determining how to position MLSE’s properties, audiences, assets and ideas in a way that resonates with prospective partners.
  • Write clear, persuasive and concise copy that transforms complex information, research and commercial opportunities into compelling client-facing stories.
  • Bring stories to life through polished, visually engaging presentations, with a strong command of layout, hierarchy, flow and in-application design.
  • Translate insights, research, audience data and market intelligence into meaningful proof points and compelling commercial narratives.
  • Develop partnership recommendations and creative platforms that connect prospective partners’ business and marketing objectives with the MLSE ecosystem.
  • Brief and provide creative direction to Junior Designers on custom visuals, mockups and other creative required to strengthen pitch storytelling.
  • Establish and maintain a high standard of storytelling, presentation craft and creative consistency across partner-facing materials.
  • Partner closely with Partnership Development leads to understand prospect objectives, challenge thinking and determine the strongest approach to positioning each opportunity.
  • Manage multiple concurrent pitch and proposal workstreams, balancing quality, speed and evolving business priorities.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior Partnership Solutions team members and contribute to the continued development of team tools, templates and best practices.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in a business-related discipline.
  • 3–7 years of experience in an agency, marketing, brand, media, sales enablement, consulting or other environment where developing persuasive client-facing presentations and pitches is a core part of the role.
  • Exceptional strategic storytelling skills, with the ability to take a business objective, brief or collection of inputs and build a clear, compelling narrative from the ground up.
  • Exceptional copywriting skills, particularly concise headlines, positioning statements, executive-level messaging and persuasive sales copy.
  • Advanced presentation development skills, with a strong command of PowerPoint and the ability to create polished, visually compelling presentations without relying on a designer for day-to-day execution.
  • Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography and information design.
  • Ability to translate research, audience insights and complex information into simple, commercially compelling stories.
  • Strong creative judgment and the ability to brief and provide direction to designers developing custom creative and visual assets.
  • A portfolio or examples of previous pitch, presentation or marketing work demonstrating exceptional storytelling, writing and presentation craft.
  • Comfortable with public speaking.
  • Experience in sports partnerships or sponsorship marketing is an asset, but not required.
  • A positive, winning approach, incorporating integrity, confidentiality and discretion.
  • The role may require availability on evenings and weekends from time to time as needed due to the nature of our business.

PLEASE NOTE: As part of your application, please attach a separate document featuring 3 slides from presentation or pitch work you are particularly proud of and personally contributed to developing. These may be 3 slides from the same deck or individual slides from three different decks - the choice is yours. Please ensure that all confidential, proprietary or sensitive information has been removed or redacted. This work sample is a required part of the application and will help us assess your strategic storytelling, copywriting and presentation craft. Applications submitted without a work sample will not be considered.

Job Posting Compensation Range/Rate:

Bonus, vacation, competitive benefits, and many exciting perks are also included.
