What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s ION Application Operations team. As a member of this team, you’ll provide investigation and second-level support for client issues, technical issues, system and website outages, and inquiries from internal and external application users. You’ll help triage, prioritize, and route issues to the appropriate CIBC technology groups and vendors to support timely resolution. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining production applications and supporting day-to-day operational activities related to the implementation and support of application and infrastructure technology in a multi-platform environment. In this role, you may participate in an on-call rotation and be required to support incidents outside of regular business hours.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How you’ll succeed

  • Production support - Investigate and assess operational issues, then prioritize them based on severity, risk, and strategic business needs. Maintain issue logs, support system maintenance activities, and implement solutions that help prevent recurrence and improve client satisfaction.

  • Partnership - Act as a regular liaison with business partners, technology teams, senior leaders, and internal and external clients. Keep partners informed about the team’s mandate, priorities, and relevant policy or legislative changes, while promoting the products and services of the Channel Support area.

  • Projects delivery - Serve as a subject matter expert in assessing the impact of planned system changes and project initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational standards related to business continuity, security, compliance, and privacy. Build productive relationships with Technology, Quality Assurance, project teams, and other key partners.

  • Continuous improvement - Research issues and outages, evaluate trends, and provide recommendations to support the development and implementation of new or revised policies, procedures, and standards that strengthen operational effectiveness.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 3-5 years’ experience supporting production applications and implementing technical changes in a complex environment. You have experience with Azure, Databricks, application programming interfaces (APIs), managed secure file transfer, Feedhub, and batch scheduling. You have familiarity with a range of technology environments and tools, including containers as a service (CaaS), PowerShell scripting, Oracle databases, AutoSys, version control software, Agile and DevOps concepts, middleware platforms such as JBoss and WebLogic, Jenkins, and GitHub. You also have strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux, basic network troubleshooting, and secure file transfer protocols.

  • You’re digitally savvy. You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. Knowledge of Dynatrace, Grafana, Splunk, and other DevOps tools is considered an asset.

  • Your influence makes a difference. You know that relationships and networks are essential to success. You inspire outcomes by sharing your expertise.

  • You know that details matter. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.

  • You put our clients first. You engage with purpose to find the right solutions. You go the extra mile, because it's the right thing to do.

  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
