What you'll be doing

As a Senior Consultant, Business Intelligence & Analytics, you will be instrumental in advancing data-driven decision-making within the PBB-Data Enablement and Insights Team – Data and Reporting - AI and Data Analytics. You will lead the design, development, and implementation of modern Business Intelligence tools and platforms, delivering robust reporting solutions. Your role will involve managing complex BI migration projects, actionable business insights, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of impactful analytics solutions.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Business Intelligence Enablement – Deliver advanced BI solutions across platforms within the AIDA group. Champion initiatives to enhance analytics accessibility and literacy using leading BI technologies. Address BI challenges proactively, ensuring alignment with CIBC’s standards and regulatory requirements. Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports utilizing Power BI, Tableau, and ThoughtSpot. Optimize data models and visualizations to support strategic business objectives and facilitate informed decision-making.

  • Azure Cloud Integration – Integrate BI tools with modern cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure and Databricks. Lead migration efforts for BI tools to cloud environments and drive AI/BI solution enablement on platforms such as Databricks Dashboards/Genie and ThoughtSpot on Cloud.

  • BI Automation – Empower business units with self-service analytics capabilities using Databricks Genie, ThoughtSpot on cloud, and Power BI Copilot. Leverage Alteryx and other advanced analytics tools to automate workflows and perform complex data analyses.

  • Stakeholder Engagement – Partner with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver tailored BI solutions. Serve as the primary point of contact for BI-related requests and provide expert guidance on best practices in business intelligence.

  • Compliance & Governance – Ensure all BI solutions comply with CIBC’s security, privacy, and regulatory standards. Maintain comprehensive documentation and actively support governance initiatives.

  • Continuous Improvement – Monitor BI platforms and services to identify opportunities for optimization. Recommend and implement enhancements to processes and outcomes. Conduct regular reviews and audits for all BI tools access, addressing any discrepancies or risks.

Who you are

  • You demonstrate experience in: Working knowledge of cloud analytics and computing through 3+ years’ experience in ThoughtSpot, Power BI, Databricks, Azure, SQL and Alteryx.
