JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Salary Range: $22.40 - $37.41 per hour (depending on completed hours)
- To support and work with maintenance Millwrights.
- To regularly obtain the required tools and equipment required by the trade.
- To follow instructions, written and verbal from Millwright(s) and Maintenance Supervisor.
- To attend any training courses deemed suitable by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Read schematics and drawings associated with the trade.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and workplace safety.
- May be required to work shifts on a rotational basis.
- IATF16949 & ISO14001 awareness and adherence.
- Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts awareness and adherence.
- Accepts personal responsibility to plan and conduct their work safely in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act as well as company policies and guidelines.
- Responsible for Good House Keeping in your area.
- Other duties as may be required.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments.
Other Tasks:
- Continuously adhere to and apply the Magna Employee’s Charter, the Magna Corporate Constitution, and the Magna Operational Principles in all aspects of position and interaction with others.
- Effective use of MDV’s Escalation Process.
- Attends all scheduled meetings and training.
- Understands and follows established rules, procedures and policies relating to position.
- Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and by following all safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties that may be assigned.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Strong mechanical inclination and proven analytical/problem solving skills.
- Excellent Math skills and English skills both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated and passionate about pursuing a long-term career in the trade of within an industrial setting.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be capable of passing all related testing and maintaining required course average.
- Must be able to travel to attend school placement and training offsite.
- Grade 12 Ontario Secondary School Diploma or GED (proof required at time of application).
- Superior attendance and performance record.
- Must be able to work all 3 shifts.
