Why This Role Is Important

As a Community Management Co-op Student with Loblaw Agency’s Enterprise Social team, you’ll help shape how some of Canada’s most recognized brands show up and connect with people every day.

You’ll work alongside our Community Management team to build engagement, brand love and positive sentiment across our social communities. From identifying great user-generated content (UGC) to joining relevant conversations and spotting emerging trends, you’ll help our brands become more active, human and culturally relevant participants in social.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who lives and breathes social, understands internet culture and is excited about turning everyday interactions into meaningful connections between brands and their communities.

What You’ll Do
  • Support day-to-day Community Management across Loblaw’s portfolio of brands and social channels.
  • Proactively engage with consumers, creators, brands and cultural conversations through outbound Community Management.
  • Identify opportunities for our brands to participate in relevant trends, conversations and cultural moments.
  • Find and surface high-quality user-generated content (UGC) that can be celebrated, shared or amplified across brand channels.
  • Help build stronger relationships with our communities through thoughtful, timely and brand-right engagement.
  • Support initiatives designed to grow engagement, positive sentiment and brand love.
  • Monitor comments, conversations and audience reactions to understand what our communities are saying about our brands.
  • Identify recurring themes, emerging conversations, audience behaviours and potential opportunities or risks.
  • Support social listening and help translate community conversations into actionable insights for the broader Social team.
  • Track Community Management activity and performance, including engagement, sentiment, UGC and outbound interactions.
  • Participate in team Learning Loops, sharing examples of what’s working, what we’re learning and where we should experiment next.
  • Partner with Social Strategy, Content, Creative and Analytics teams to bring audience and community insights into our broader social work.
  • Stay connected to platform trends, creator culture, memes and emerging social behaviours across TikTok, Instagram and other relevant platforms.
What You Bring
  • You are currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Marketing, Communications, Media, Advertising, Public Relations, Business or a related field.
  • You have a genuine passion for social media, internet culture and how brands show up in social communities.
  • You understand the nuances of platforms such as TikTok and Instagram and how people communicate differently across them.
  • You are a strong writer who can adapt your voice and communication style for different brands and audiences.
  • You are curious and naturally pay attention to what people are talking about online — and why.
  • You have strong judgment and understand when a brand should join a conversation and when it shouldn’t.
  • You are comfortable interpreting basic social metrics and using data to understand what is resonating.
  • You are highly organized and comfortable balancing multiple brands, conversations and priorities.
  • You thrive in a fast-moving environment and are comfortable responding to opportunities in real time.
  • You are collaborative, proactive and eager to learn from others.
  • Most importantly, you are socially curious — you notice the comments, conversations, creators and cultural moments that others might scroll past.
What You’ll Learn

During your co-op term, you’ll gain hands-on experience in how an enterprise Social Centre of Excellence operates, including Community Management, social listening, UGC, outbound engagement, sentiment, social measurement and cultural intelligence.

You’ll also have the opportunity to see how community insights can influence content, creative and social strategy — and how great Community Management can turn everyday social interactions into stronger relationships and greater brand love.
