Event Servers play a key role in the execution of special events. They assist with setup and breakdown, deliver food and beverage service with efficiency and professionalism, and help maintain a clean, organized event space. Event Servers are knowledgeable about the event menu and are expected to monitor food quality and presentation, while providing attentive service throughout the event.

The Day to Day:

  • Assist with the setup, maintenance, and teardown of event spaces
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests as directed by the Management team
  • Maintain cleanliness by clearing plates, cutlery, and glassware throughout the event
  • Monitor food presentation and quality standards, ensuring consistency and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of the event menu to answer guest questions and offer recommendations
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests
  • Follow all O&B health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications
  • Available for a minimum of three weekdays or evenings per week
  • Proven track record of at least one year of professional serving experience (strongly preferred)
  • Valid Smart Serve Certification is a requirement
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain composure and efficiency under high-pressure situations in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior organizational skills with a proven capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Consistent demonstration of professional urgency and ability to maintain momentum throughout shifts

Now recognized as one of Toronto's best examples of Art Moderne architecture, The Carlu has been designated as a National Historic Site of Canada and has played host to royalty on several occasions. As the preferred space for high profile social fetes, conventions, and corporate celebrations. In 2003, the space at 444 Yonge St. in College Park reopened as "The Carlu" event venue after an extensive restoration.
