Duties for this position will include, but not be limited to, the following

• Provide general labour support to the paint shop:

  • hand painting and cleaning of select steel materials and joist

  • moving material and/ or equipment within the paint shop

  • general cleanliness and organization for the paintshop

• Load and unload materials, both manually and with hoists or forklifts

• Ensure proper storage and restock of paint materials

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas

• Provide general labour support as needed throughout the plant

• Report any safety hazards, damage or required repairs to supervisors

• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

• Practice good housekeeping, including 5S requirements, and time management in the performance of daily duties

• Comply with all legislated and Company Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and Lean policies, procedures and programs

• Perform all other duties as assigned

Position will require the ability to:

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting an asset

• Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs)

• Ability to work in hot, noisy, and physically demanding environments

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Work environment:
Working safely is a condition of employment at Canam. The role involves a general office setting and constant exposure to computer display. Safety PPE (personal protective equipment) must be worn while onsite (steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses, etc.). Daily interactions include engaging with construction site personnel, managers and other team members.
