JOB DESCRIPTION
The Industrial Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and plant productivity. This role works closely with operations, maintenance supervisor , tradespeople, and contractors to ensure maintenance work is executed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
What You'll do:
- Develop and maintain weekly and long-range maintenance schedules.
- Create detailed work orders including labor requirements, parts, tools, permits, and safety procedures.
- Coordinate planned shutdowns, outages, and major maintenance projects.
- Review maintenance requests and prioritize work based on safety, reliability, and operational requirements.
- Maintain and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Ensure required parts and materials are identified, ordered, and available before scheduled work begins.
- Analyze equipment history and maintenance data to identify reliability improvement opportunities.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Monitor maintenance backlog and develop plans to reduce overdue work.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities that minimize downtime.
- Assist with budget planning and contractor coordination.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and cost reduction.
QUALIFICATIONS
What you'll need:
- Technical diploma, trade certification, or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline.
- Experience in maintenance planning, maintenance supervision, or industrial maintenance preferred .
- Experience in a manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices preferred.
- Experience using JD Edwards, or similar systems, considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
