Cook Assistant/Custodian

JOB DESCRIPTION
J.D. Irving CNB Woodlands is seeking an experienced Cook Assistant/Custodian to join out dynamic team at our Chipman Camp location.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Cook Assistant

• Assist Head Cook as required.
• Prepare daily meals (breakfast, lunch, supper) for a large crew.
• Manage food inventory and supplies, ensuring efficiency and minimal waste.
• Maintain top-notch cleanliness and food safety standards in all kitchen operations.
• Accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences whenever possible.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  Custodian
• Clean and sanitize sleeping quarters, washrooms, showers, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all assigned areas.
• Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in accordance with camp protocols.
• Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• General Maintenance indoor and outdoor.

QUALIFICATIONS
Kitchen Assistant

• 2-5 years of Culinary Experience
• Experience cooking for large groups, ideally in camp or remote settings.
• Solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work long hours and adapt to changing conditions.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.

Custodian

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Physically capable of lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid Driver's License
