JOB DESCRIPTION
The Solution Designer is responsible for interpreting business requirements and establishing the technical direction required to deliver effective and scalable solutions. This role ensures that all designs align with enterprise architecture principles across Business, Application, Information, Technology, and Security domains.
The Solution Designer will work closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and technical teams to deliver solutions that meet both business and technical objectives while supporting strategic outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpret business and technical requirements and translate them into solution designs that enable business goals
  • Provide high-level and detailed solution design direction and recommendations to project teams
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles across Business, Application, Information, Technology, and Security
  • Lead the design, specification, and selection of information system solutions, considering:
    • Functionality
    • Data and integration
    • Security
    • Infrastructure
    • Scalability and performance
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Business Analysts to develop project schedules, tasks, and resource plans
  • Contribute to business case development, including cost estimates for infrastructure, licensing, development, and ongoing support
  • Review delivered solutions to ensure they are built to specification and aligned with design standards
  • Lead the organization in leveraging emerging technologies and industry best practices

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar Solution Designer / Architect role
  • 10+ years of overall experience in a professional IT environment
  • Proven experience providing technical direction to project teams and junior resources
  • Strong experience developing solution design documentation
  • Solid understanding of solution design in environments leveraging Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and enterprise systems
  • Experience working across multiple domains including integration, data, infrastructure, and application environments
