JOB DESCRIPTION
This student will support Bayside and inbound logistics operations by assisting with continuous improvement with receipt, storage, tracking, and delivery requests.
Working alongside Bayside Distribution, logistics, and project teams, the student will gain hands-on experience in inventory control, material handling, and enterprise systems while contributing to the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of daily warehouse operations and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, the student will assist in preparation of reports and presentations, and any initiative projects as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a day-to-day liaison between Irving Shipbuilding and Bayside to support inbound material flow.
- Coordinate inbound deliveries, receiving schedules, and storage requests to ensure materials are available when required.
- Track material status and movements between the warehouse and Irving Shipbuilding, escalating issues or delays as needed.
- Support communication related to packing lists, documentation, discrepancies, shortages, or damages.
- Support issue resolution related to receiving errors, inventory variances, or service level concerns with Bayside.
- Prepare and present reports and presentations as needed.
- Participate in regular coordination meetings, prepare notes, and support follow-up actions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying gaps, inefficiencies, or process improvement opportunities in the warehousing interface.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program from the following areas:
- Business Administration
- Supply Chain and Logistics
- Commerce
- Engineering
- 0-2 years' experience.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, openness to learning new systems.
- Skilled in organizing and managing a variety of tasks with varying priorities and is a fast learner and effective problem solver.
- Strong academic performance.
- Interest in the shipbuilding, defense, or marine industry and a desire to join an exciting, fast-paced organization.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
