JOB DESCRIPTION
J.D. Irving, Limited - Irving Pulp & Paper Division is currently seeking a motivated and curious early‑career professional to join our Sales team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent university graduate or emerging professional looking to build a career in sales within a dynamic, industrial, and customer-focused organization.
This blended role includes exposure to customer-facing activities, collaboration with internal teams, and time spent at our corporate head office in Saint John, NB. Reporting to the Vice President, Pulp & Packaging Sales, the successful candidate will support sales initiatives across Pulp and Packaging markets while developing strong commercial, analytical, and relationship‑management skills.
You will be part of a collaborative sales team and gain hands-on experience across the full sales lifecycle, from market analysis and customer engagement to CRM management and business reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support U.S. and Canadian sales and business development activities across multiple market segments
- Assist with customer relationship management, including CRM data maintenance and analysis
- Participate in customer meetings, calls, and site visits alongside senior sales leaders
- Collaborate with internal teams such as scheduling, logistics, warehousing, and customer service to support customer commitments
- Monitor sales activity, fulfillment performance, and customer service metrics
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including the use of AI and digital tools within sales operations
- Gather and summarize market, customer, and competitor insights for internal reporting
- Share field learnings and observations to help develop customer-focused solutions
- Support sales reporting, dashboards, and business analytics as required
- Travel within North America on a limited basis as experience grows
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related field
- Internship, co-op, or summer work experience in sales, business, analytics, or customer service considered an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset
- Interest in sales, business development, and commodity or industrial markets
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Comfort working with data, CRM systems, and Microsoft tools, interest in AI and digital technologies such as Microsoft Copilot is an asset
- Ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Flexible, hands-on attitude with a willingness to grow and take on increasing responsibility over time
