JOB DESCRIPTION
The Content Specialist will be responsible for creating, editing, and managing engaging content across various platforms to enhance our brand presence and drive customer engagement. The ideal candidate will have a passion for home improvement, excellent writing skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role requires a creative thinker who can produce high-quality content that resonates with our target audience.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with the company's marketing goals and objectives.
  • Create compelling and informative content for the company's website, blog, social media channels, email campaigns, and other marketing materials.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and produce content that supports product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Conduct research to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Optimize content for SEO to improve organic search rankings and drive traffic to the website.
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Monitor and analyze content performance using analytics tools, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in content creation and digital marketing.
  • Willingness to travel to KENT locations across Atlantic Canada to capture engaging video and digital content of our teams and stores.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in content creation, preferably within the retail or home improvement industry.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices and experience with keyword research.
  • Proven experience in multimedia content production across traditional and short-form/social video; strong photography and videography skills with expertise in lighting and audio in both studio and live event settings.
    • Experience directing on-camera talent.

    • Proficiency in motion graphics and experience operating a drone considered assets.

  • Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and engaging content creation.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design and multimedia production is a plus.
