JOB DESCRIPTION
Central New Brunswick Woodlands is currently seeking qualified Grader Operator(s) for forestry operations based out of Deersdale, New Brunswick. The successful candidate(s) will operate a company-owned Caterpillar 14M motor grader to support the construction and maintenance of forestry road infrastructure.
This position requires a strong understanding of road-building practices, a commitment to safe work procedures, and the ability to work effectively in remote operating environments.
Operational requirements
- Participate in training, safety meetings, and coaching initiatives
- Maintain productivity in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Work Conditions
- Work is conducted primarily on JDI freehold land
- Ability to work rotating shifts within a 24/7 production environment
- Overtime may be required based on operational demands
Transportation and Accomodations
- A company vehicle is provided for work-related travel and operations
- A personal vehicle is required only for travel to and from the Deersdale Yard
- Camp accommodations are available for employees when required by location or scheduling

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate a motor grader to construct, maintain, and repair forestry roads
- Carry out grading, shaping, ditching, and snow removal as required to ensure safe road conditions
- Perform daily pre-operational inspections and conduct routine and minor equipment maintenance
- Identify and report mechanical issues, hazards, or unsafe conditions in a timely manner
- Comply with all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and operational procedures
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, and other equipment operators to meet operational requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience operating heavy equipment
- Previous experience operating a motor grader is considered an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of forestry road construction and maintenance practices
- Ability to work independently and responsibly in remote work settings
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing conditions
- Valid Class 5 driver's license required
- Class 1 or Class 3 driver's license considered an asset
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Heavy equipment operator certification and/or grader-specific training considered an asset
