JOB DESCRIPTION
The Graphic Design Production Coordinator will work collaboratively within the Corporate Communications team and with internal customers to provide hands-on support to the creative team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Coordination:
- Assist the manager with the day-to-day operations of the design studio to ensure efficient workflow
- Coordinate and expedite daily workflow within the design team
- Effectively implement procedures to streamline workflow on the design team
- Maintain oversight of project requests from inception to delivery
- Keep track of design projects' status and monitor deadlines to ensure all projects are delivered on time
- Maintain daily project requests tracking sheet
- Liaise and interact with internal customers and outside vendors to collect all crucial project information before distribution of assignments (ensure all specifications are included, images, logos, copy, artwork dimensions, project deadline, etc.)
- Respond to all customer design request emails in a timely manner
- Open project requests and assign projects to the designers using internal project management software
- Efficiently distribute assignments to the appropriate team members
- Collaborate with graphic designers, internal customers and, manager to set and adjust project deadlines
- Conduct initial quality assurance checks across all design proofs to ensure project specifications are met
- Review final artwork before it's sent to print to ensure quality standards are met
- Coordinate with the internal print room team, translator, and outside vendors as necessary
Graphic Design:
- Assist creative team by taking on overflow of design projects to ensure workload balance, and when resources are limited
- Working collaboratively in a creative process to meet client needs and reach a consensus with multiple contributors and design expectations
- Managing more than one project at a time and allocating the relevant amount of time according to the value of the communications piece
- Interpreting the internal client's business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose
- Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work
- Designing and finalizing layouts and artwork pages for print and digital
- Working as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, other designers, web developers, and marketing specialists
- Ensuring visual and brand identity requirements are respected
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a production coordination role
- 5 - 8 years' experience in graphic design
- Post-secondary degree or certificate in Graphic Design
- Advanced skill in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop required)
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Team-oriented and highly collaborative
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to appropriately multitask and prioritize
- Ability to work independently and with minimal direction
- Ability to take initiative, strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
- High energy level and dedication to meeting both external and internal customer needs
- Proven proficiency in successfully providing design solutions for print, digital, and online
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of French would be considered an asset
