JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Quality Specialist, you will work under limited supervision to ensure consistent quality execution and support the Quality Management System (QMS).
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, monitor, and continuously improve the Quality Management System. Provide leadership and guidance to staff involved in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain existing quality specifications, procedures (document libraries), equipment certifications, and GMP standards.
  • Monitor quality trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Define and implement inspection and verification systems to ensure 100% product quality.
  • Act as the primary contact for external agencies, audit organizations, and customer quality departments. Serve as a subject matter expert in resolving quality-related issues.
  • Assist with product and process validations as needed.
  • Lead the administration of non-conformance and Corrective Action Processes (CAPA). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct thorough investigations.
  • Coordinate product development trials, ensuring proper sampling and testing plans are in place. Ensure timely closure of trials with comprehensive analysis, reporting, and recommendations.
  • Prepare and submit quality metrics reports to management. Support various quality functions, including laboratory testing and raw material analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Chemical Technology or a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Pulp and Paper Engineering, or Environmental Science.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in technical or operational roles would be considered an asset.
  • Green Belt certification or experience with Six Sigma/Lean Management tools is an asset.
  • Self-motivated, forward-thinking, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint, Power Automate, Visual Basic, and Minitab, would be considered an asset.
