JOB DESCRIPTION
This position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager. You will be responsible to provide administrative support to HR department through the coordination and execution of human resources policies, procedures and initiatives for the site.
- Annual Salary: $47,000 - $51,000
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain HCM and people database (updating personal and job-related information for new and existing employees).
- Maintain hourly employee files, HR policies, records on vacation, sick leave, bereavement etc.
- Obtains, tracks, and completes HR reports regarding absenteeism, performance management, new employee probation evaluation
- Assist with the attendance management process by running monthly reports, determining disciplinary action/steps, coordination employee letters, communicating information to supervisors, and entering information into the system.
- Assist in hiring hourly employees by coordinating with Talent Acquisition Specialist, completing files and systems setup
- Manage tracking/inventory for service anniversary awards and gifts, entering record of receipt of PIN
- Coordinate and manage swipe cards for employees and contractors, assist in preparation of employee events, phone coverage in absence of receptionist. (Other duties/incidentals as assigned in absence of accountable HR team member).
- Process new hires and terminations under HR database.
- Respond to general HR inquiries from employees and external contacts
- Perform general administrative duties including filing, scanning, or organizing records
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources or administrative roles
- Strong knowledge of HR functions and labor legislation is an asset
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HRSS systems preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
- Abilit to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude
- Experience in unionized is an asset
