JOB DESCRIPTION
The Production Controller will work directly with the Ship Repair production team to drive schedule performance. They will provide a lookahead to the upcoming work scope, and track completion of work. Also, while ensuring all material is onsite to achieve schedule and monitor the amount of work in progress and late items. This role will work with cross functional departments to drive results and resolve roadblocks.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Each Production Controller is assigned a group of Supervisors that they are responsible to provide work to support their crew and drive the schedule.
  • Order the material to support the Job Packages in Production working directly with the warehouse to meet scheduled material delivery dates.
  • Create Plan of the Weeks for Supervisor to ensure they have the right work at the right time. Working directly with Supervisors and Production Management.
  • Verify material availability and escalate with Supply Chain on priority material requirements.
  • Manage suspended job packages to ensure work is continued when issues are resolved.
  • Daily Production shopfloor walks to monitor work progression, material consumption, and upcoming available scope.
  • Participate and/or hold cross functional meetings with Production, Planning, Engineering, Subcontractors, Supply Chain, and the customer.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Recognized Diploma in technical discipline (Engineering, Engineering Technology/Technician or similar) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Ability to employ critical thinking to solve complex problems and develop sustainable solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management skills.
