JOB DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Project Manager plays a crucial role within the Programs Department by supporting the oversight and governance of various functions within the RCD Program. The role involves a blend of administrative, coordination, and management tasks aimed at ensuring the successful delivery of project objectives. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the Project Manager and other project stakeholders to maintain project alignment with organizational goals and standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the planning, execution, and closing of projects. Coordinate project activities and ensure all project phases are documented and completed on time.
- Ensure all project activities comply with organizational policies, procedures, and standards. Assist in the development and implementation of governance frameworks.
- Support the creation and maintenance of project schedules. Monitor project timelines and milestones and report any deviations to the Program Manager.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of project budgets. Track project expenditures and ensure financial resources are used efficiently.
- Identify potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies. Monitor and report on risk status throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders. Prepare and distribute project reports, meeting minutes, and other documentation as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and practices within Programs.
- Manage various administrative requests which may include, travel arrangements, preparation of presentations and metrics, change management, maintenance of SharePoint pages and other ad hoc requests.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree, in business administration, engineering or related discipline an asset (Additional years of experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree).
- Recognized PM designation (such as PMI) an asset.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Project Management, in defense/design/construction industries.
- Proficiency in project management concepts, software and tools.
- Strong Organizational skills and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- All successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
