Blasting Superintendent

JOB DESCRIPTION
Gulf Operators Ltd is a civil contractor experienced in all aspects of civil work including drilling and blasting, concrete work, excavation, water and sewer, and aggregate production and sales.

We are looking for talent to add to our drilling and blasting team! In the role of blaster, you will be involved in a variety of projects and locations across our divisions. This is an opportunity for growth and development for the right candidate.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Lead and supervise all blasting operations, including planning, design, layout, preparation, and execution of blasts
  • Ensure all blasting activities (priming, loading, stemming, hookup, and detonation) are completed safely and efficiently
  • Develop and review blast designs in alignment with quarry development and project requirements
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to blasters and support crew
  • Maintain accurate records of blasting activities, including cut sheets, blast reports, and explosives usage
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal and Provincial regulations related to explosives handling, storage, and transportation
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure blasting activities align with overall project schedules and objectives
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to company safety policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

• Class I Provincial Blasting License (New Brunswick) or the ability to obtain one based on work experience.
• 2-5 years of experience working with explosives in quarries or in the construction industry.
• Supervisory experience considered an asset.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently.
