JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Director, Logistics, the Manager, Transportation will be responsible for efficient transportation cost and service by managing a team of Logistics professionals with Strategic and Tactical focus. The successful candidate will be a results-driven, self-starter with a "Can Do" attitude who will be innovative in dealing with problems and in identifying and taking advantage of opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure carrier performance by monitoring service level agreements, enforcing compliance, and driving continuous improvement
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Optimize transportation strategy by refining processes, streamlining operations, and implementing efficiency-driven solutions
- Benchmark, Negotiate and manage competitive freight rates while maintaining cost and revenue optimization within P&L accountability
- Oversee comprehensive data-driven decision-making by managing financial performance, supply chain visibility, Operational excellence and forecasting reports.
- Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and other departments to align strategy, execution, and long-term planning
- Maintain and enhance vendor and customer relationships to ensure seamless logistics operations and service excellence
- Establish and implement best practices for transportation modes, routing, and equipment utilization to maximize efficiency
- Drive problem-solving initiatives to proactively address transportation, logistics, and customer-related challenges
- Lead various initiatives and process enhancements to position transportation operations for future growth, sustainability and optimization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education in business, Logistics or Supply Chain
- 5+ years' experience in logistics management, operations or equivalent role
- Collaborative "lead by example" team player with the ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic work environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Financial acumen and previous experience managing budgets.
- 3+ years experience managing a team
