JD Irving Limited is looking for a skilled Bench Person to join our Central Filing team and help us deliver excellence to our customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
What You'll Do:
Blade Inspection
- Conduct thorough inspections of saw blades to identify visible defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards to minimize operational downtime.
Blade Maintenance
- Use specialized tools and techniques to hammer out imperfections and restore saw blades to optimal condition.
Forklift Operation
- Safely operate a forklift to transport blades and filing equipment, supporting smooth and efficient operations.
Safety Compliance
- Follow strict workplace safety standards, proactively identifying risks to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience:
- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Additional technical training in equipment maintenance and one year of experience in blade filing or sawmill equipment maintenance.
Skills and Certifications:
- Forklift operator certification preferred.
- Knowledge of blade inspection, repair techniques, and automated grinding machine operation (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift, pull, and hammer materials with precision.
- Positive attitude, teamwork skills, and eagerness to learn new processes.
Schedule
- Working full-time hours with availability on weekends.
