Job Description:

Financial Services Representative

Souris Credit Union | Souris, PE

We are growing to better serve our community! At Souris Credit Union, we are more than just a place to bank—we are a local, community-focused team dedicated to helping our neighbors reach their financial goals. With over $148 million in assets and 3,500 member-owners, we take pride in putting people first. Community support is at the heart of everything we do: since 2012, we have returned over $4.8 million directly to our members and local community through patronage rebates, sponsorships, charitable donations, and educational bursaries.

If you want to work in a friendly, supportive environment where your daily work directly benefits your neighbors and community, we would love to hear from you!

What You'll Do

As a Financial Services Representative, you are the face and voice of Souris Credit Union. You will deliver warm, reliable, and knowledgeable service to our members —whether they are visiting us in-branch, calling over the phone, or reaching out through digital channels.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver Great Member Experiences: Process daily financial transactions smoothly, resolve account inquiries, and assist members with card services.
  • Guide & Advise: Help members get the most out of their banking by introducing them to helpful products and guiding them through our online, mobile, and ATM self-service banking options.
  • Connect Member Needs: Identify opportunities to make members' financial lives easier, proactively referring them to our Lending and Investment specialists when appropriate.
  • Keep Operations Running Smoothly: Handle essential branch tasks including daily opening/closing procedures, cash drawer balancing, and safety deposit administration.
  • Protect Our Members & Credit Union: Ensure high confidentiality and maintain compliance with credit union policies.
  • Support the Team: Collaborate with colleagues, assist with training, participate in community events, hold security combinations, and serve as part of our local after-hours ATM maintenance response team.

What You Bring:

  • Education & Experience: A High School Diploma combined with at least 2 years of customer service experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Local Connection: Because this position is part of our after-hours ATM call-out team, preference will be given to candidates who reside in Souris or the surrounding area.
  • Service Mindset: A genuine passion for helping people, strong active listening skills, empathy, and a team-first attitude.
  • Detail & Accuracy: Comfort with numbers, previous cash-handling experience, high attention to detail, and absolute discretion with confidential member data.
  • Tech Comfort: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, fast and accurate keyboarding skills, and an eagerness to learn new banking technologies quickly.
  • Growth Orientation: Curiosity and a passion for continuous, lifelong learning.

What We Offer:

We believe in taking care of our team so you can take care of our members. Here is what you can expect when you join us:

  • Competitive Pay: Salary range for this position is $47,716 – $53,302 (commensurate with experience).
  • Comprehensive Health & Retirement: Flexible health and dental coverage, paid sick leave, an annual Health Care Spending Account, and a pension plan with up to 6% employer-matched contributions.
  • Work-Life Balance & Paid Time Off: Starting vacation at 3 weeks (pro-rated).
  • Career Development: Tuition reimbursement, structured training programs, and career progression paths.
  • Perks & Extra Allowances: Annual clothing allowance, fee-free personal banking, reduced rates on employee loans and mortgages, and opportunity for an annual bonus.
  • Probationary Period: 3 months.
