**This is a 14-week contract position
The Research and Development Assistant will work closely with the PEI Parkinson Association's board of directors to identify the needs of Islanders living with or impacted by Parkinson's Disease.
The successful candidate will communicate with our membership to assess their needs and identify gaps. With this information, the candidate will research potential programming and/or services that will fill those gaps which we will aim to develop. The Research and Development Assistant will also create an information resource (i.e.: a brochure) that will be distributed island wide.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of or experience with research tools and methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of communication principles and practices
- Knowledge and experience with data entry systems and reporting
- Ability to work independently with weekly check-ins
- Knowledge of social media tools: Facebook, Instagram, etc.
- Proficient in the use of various Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook, and ability to use various databases
- Attention to detail, project management skills, and being highly organized a must
- Upbeat, positive attitude, and good sense of humor a plus
- Ability to work with compassion and patience
