Community Park Coordinator $16.50/hr
The park is located at 413 Sleepy Hollow Road, Milton Station.

Inventory and assess the assets at the Community Park; light maintenance and sanitizing; safety checks, updating the park's procedural manual; scheduling staff; organizing and coordinating events and park users, including a drop in day program; updating social media and the website; supervise children; plant and maintain municipal portion of the community garden at the park. Purchasing Park and Canada Day supplies. Assist with the planning and promotion of community events, including the ParticipACTION Community Challenge Activities, Canada Day, seniors events and DEI activities. *Must be eligible under the Post-Secondary Student Program POSITION STARTS – May 27

Community Park Worker – $16.40/hour
Develop, coordinate, promote and deliver a community recreation program for children, adults and seniors of the municipality of Miltonvale Park. Assist with organizing and implementing the Community's special events, such as Canada Day celebration and summer programming, seniors activities, and planning a fall
celebration. Promote the park and its facilities, including the walking trail. Plant and promote the community garden. Supervise the community park and shelter building, and the safety of children at the park. Responsible for purchasing program supplies, light maintenance and cleaning, and assigned garden duties. Responsible for assigned office administrative tasks, such as data entry, or information gathering for Emergency Measures, when children are not present at the park, or for selected tasks at the Municipal Office, (filing, assisting to organize events, data entry, communications, newsletter, updating social media). Responsible for scheduling and coordinating activities with the co-recreation coordinator. The participant will communicate with park users, explain park policies and municipal programming to residents and users of municipal facilities. The participant will work as a team member along with municipal staff, councillors and volunteers to carry out municipal programs and activities, and to maximize the client experience at the park and with the municipality.

The two students/workers at the park work cooperatively together to organize scheduling and special events. Digital skills will be developed through making posters, social media posts, website updates, registrations, and videos of crafts projects. The participant will have a great degree of autonomy to select activities to organize at the park, under the supervision of the CAO. The participant will also be the first point of contact to address any conflict that may arise at the park. The position is very flexible, and requires a responsible person who enjoys people, the outdoors, and computer work. The skills developed will be very helpful for a student in business, recreation, or child studies.
