About the Job:

The Recreation Program Leader (RPL) position at Hammond River Angling Association involves creating and delivering engaging environmental, recreational, and fishing-related programs for Day Campers aged 5-12 at the Hammond River Nature Camp. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a summer-long program that focuses on fisheries and forest conservation in the Fundy Royal area. Previous programs have included activities such as tree-planting, insect collecting/identifying, fishing, fly-tying, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, sports, field games, wetland tours, wildlife identification, environmental education, and environmental clean-up activities. As the RPL, you will also coordinate the activities of Day Camp Counsellors to ensure that the programming is both educational and entertaining.

A candidate (student) must:

  • Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
  • Be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
  • NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
