About the Job:

As a Nature Campus Intern at Knowlesville Art and Nature Center, you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in program delivery and land maintenance. You will work closely with our program staff to create, deliver, and support nature-based summer programs that inspire creativity and connection with the natural world. In addition, you will assist in maintaining the grounds, trails, and gardens of the Knowlesville Art and Nature Center.

Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting with the site preparation and maintenance of the Knowlesville Community Seed Garden and Acadian Forest Restoration Nursery sites.
  2. Supporting the landscaping and ecological land restoration team in creating full circle seed gardens and a community native tree and shrub nursery for local forest restoration efforts.
  3. Collaborating on Community Seed Library Projects with participating libraries.

A candidate (student) must:

  • Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
  • Be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
  • NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
