About the Job:

As a Community Centre Worker at TCA, you will have the exciting opportunity to collaborate with CSJ-sponsored youth and TCA volunteers on summer camp programming for elementary children. In addition, you will support various TCA activities such as Family Day, the Taymouth Community Market, Nashwaak Rural Community Days, the Taymouth Tigers Ball Field Program, enhancement of the TCA nature trail, green space and building maintenance and repairs, yearly 5 km roadside clean up, and assist with event promotion and reporting through TCA social media. We welcome creative ideas for additional programming to further engage the community.

Previous student employees have found TCA to be a productive learning environment and work experience, providing valuable insights into community resources and community building. You will receive daily supervision and mentoring to enhance your teamwork, self-evaluation, and self-direction skills.

A candidate (student) must:

  • Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
  • Be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
  • NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
