Join Our Team as a Summer Camp Counsellor!

Are you passionate about working with children and creating memorable experiences? Kennebecasis Baptist Church is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Summer Camp Counsellors. As a Counsellor, you will play a vital role in executing all summer plans for our Day Camp under the guidance of our experienced Camp Coordinators.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead, play, and engage campers in sports, music, stories, crafts, and games
  • Prepare materials for all activities
  • Supervise and ensure a safe environment for campers
  • Communicate effectively with Coordinators and Associate Pastor
  • Follow the daily schedule and guidelines provided

Training and Development:

As a Counsellor, you will receive training in interpersonal communications, leadership, and teamwork skills from our Associate Pastor. Training will be provided before camp begins and continue throughout your employment to enhance your skills. You will also receive a handbook outlining expectations, responsibilities, and personal development goals.

  • Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
  • Be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
  • NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
