About the Job:

As an Actor/Guide at Calithumpians, you will be part of one of three crews: the Calithumpians, the Fencibles, or the Camp Counselors. Each crew has a unique focus, from lunch-time shows and ghost tours to heritage tours and drama camps for kids. You will participate in research, script development, rehearsal, and performance within your assigned crew. Some roles may require bilingual abilities, and musical talent and performance experience are assets. You will be trained in heritage interpretation, guided tour techniques, and customer service skills. The program lasts 12 to 14 weeks, including training, writing, rehearsal, and "open season" tours and shows. Additionally, we will be engaging in online activities through various social media channels.

A candidate (student) must:

  • Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
  • Be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
  • NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
