THE OPPORTUNITY
Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. ("Triton") is seeking several highly motivated and enthusiastic New Grad & Summer Student Environmental Technicians to join a well-established team of environmental professionals in our Prince George, BC office. Successful candidates will gain experience in a variety of environmental scopes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Assisting biologists with water quality, fish, wildlife, and vegetation assessments.
  • Supporting environmental monitoring of construction work activities.
  • Mobilizing and maintaining field gear and equipment.
  • Supporting with bird nest surveys, as well as fish and amphibian salvages.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills, traits, and qualifications:
  • Newly graduated or working towards a diploma or degree in natural resource management, biology, or environmental science (education must be with an accredited post secondary Canadian institution).
  • Willing to work 10-12 hours per day and up to 14-day field shifts while staying in camp situations or hotels.
  • Physically fit and able to conduct field work in all weather conditions
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license from a Canadian province or Territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting.
  • Experience operating a 4x4 truck an asset.
  • Eligible candidates who will be considered, must be currently enrolled with a Canadian accredited post secondary institution and plan to be returning to studies, post completion of the summer student work term.
  • Preference is for Prince George BC and the surrounding local area - There is no employer provided relocation and/or travel reimbursement being offered at this time.

JOB CLOSING DATE: May 17, 2024
DURATION TERM: Targeted to start approximately early May and going until the end of August. Depending upon both business need requirements and candidate availability, there is potential for employment extension.
COMPENSATION RANGE: The compensation range for this position, is anywhere between $24-28 per hour, depending on candidate experience and educational level.
