BayFerries Limited is currently recruiting GP Stewards/Purser for casualpositions working on MV Fundy Rose , a year-round ferry serviceacross the Bay of Fundy between Digby, Nova Scotia and Saint John, NewBrunswick.

Thisis a casual, unlicensed position and may lead to a full-time position.

Preference will be given to applicants with:

  • CDNnumber.
  • ValidMarine Medical.
  • MED(Marine Emergency Duties).
  • Passenger Safety Management.

Descriptionof role:

Stewardsensure the safety and comfort of our passengers while onboard and undertakecleaning of the public areas, washroom and crew areas of the vessel. Theyassist with embarkation and disembarkation of passengers, and engage withcustomers to provide information, assistance and overall professional, friendlycustomer service. Stewards may also be required to perform otherGeneral-Purposeduties, such as Deckhand. Fundy Rose is alive-aboard vessel, and Stewards must be prepared to reside on the vessel for 7days.

The Purser is responsible for the care of passengers.Passengers must be greeted and cared for in a friendly and courteous manner. Pursers must ensure that special attention and assistance is provided when needed. They are responsible for making PA announcements to advise passengers of any changes to scheduled arrival or departure times. Other duties as assigned.

The Purser: is the crew member identified to be the person in charge during a medical emergency.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience in the passenger ship industry.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven track record of safe operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Valid CDN # and marine medical.
  • MED - STCW 6.1 & STCW 6.2 (Mandatory).
