Civil Project Manager – Infrastructure Construction – Greater Toronto Area, Southern Ontario

As the Civil Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of small, medium, and large municipal infrastructure construction projects, including roads, bridges, and highways, from inception to completion. Reporting to the Senior Management team, the Project Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and collaborate with a dynamic team while contributing to the development of Ontario's infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure construction projects, including roads, bridges, highways, and utilities, in accordance with project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company objectives.
  • Coordinate project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize productivity and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and resolution of issues.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance, and implement corrective actions as necessary to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
  • Prepare and present project reports, updates, and presentations to senior management, clients, and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and challenges.
  • Monitor project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures, to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets and financial targets.
  • Lead and mentor project team members, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary Education in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • P. Eng or PMP Designations an asset but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience and a proven track record of success in project management, with a focus MTO projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, techniques, and best practices, particularly in road construction, bridge construction, and utility installations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent, for planning, scheduling, forecasting, estimation, and tracking project progress.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing infrastructure construction in Ontario, including health and safety.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites across Ontario as required.
