HCV Project Coordinator – Ref #2024-059

Job Summary:

The Hepatitis C Project Coordinator is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and implementation of community-based testing initiatives. The Hepatitis C Project Coordinator will collaborate with community leaders and health system providers to conduct readiness assessments, coordinate training, and oversee quality control and monitoring and evaluation data.

The Hepatitis C Project Coordinator will be directly accountable to the Harm Reduction Manager.

The term for this position ends March 31, 2025.

Qualifications:

  • Persons of First Nations ancestry will be given preference (OHRC, Part II, Special Employment)
  • University degree in a health-related field
  • A minimum of one year of previous experience in health planning and project management
  • A minimum of one year of previous experience in health promotion and education
  • A minimum of one year of previous experience in blood borne infections, harm reduction, and/or public health
  • Valid Class G driver's license
  • The ability to perform the requirements of the position on a regular basis

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides overall coordination of the Sioux Lookout and community-based components of the Dried Blood Spot Testing initiative;
  2. Conducts community consultation processes such as community visits, meetings, video conferences, and teleconferences;
  3. Develops detailed workplans with the project team, community leaders, and local healthcare providers;
  4. Coordinates training of community-based workers to support increased access to testing for blood-borne infections;
  5. Provides logistical support for community-based testing initiatives;
  6. Coordinates data collection for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the project;
  7. Collaborates with existing SLFNHA initiatives for harm reduction and control of blood borne infections and contributes to broader SLFNHA program planning processes as requested;
  8. Writes reports and proposals, as necessary, to support the development of the hepatitis C projects and initiatives;
  9. Contributes to the development of methods and tools for sharing and disseminating knowledge generated by the hepatitis C projects and initiatives;
  10. Maintains a regional Hep C Micro Elimination Committee through planning bimonthly meetings, reviewing memberships, and acting as a liaison between external stakeholders;
  11. All other duties as assigned.
