IS2 Workforce Solutions is now hiring a Buyer for an agricultural and construction machinery manufacturer in Pickering, Ontario !

In this role, you will be expected to effectively cultivate relationships with vendors to ensure that service, quality, and pricing standards are consistently met. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within financial and operational frameworks related to issuance of purchase orders (POs).
  • Review all purchase order recommendations for accuracy and relevance and adjust as necessary.
  • Maintain optimum inventory level with focus on appropriate months of supply and inventory turns.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Analysts to optimize purchasing process.
  • Develop and follow a schedule for meeting each core vendor to review performance, contractual terms, inventory levels, etc.
  • Minimize risk associated with inactive and obsolete inventory by working closely with vendors.
  • Address existing issues affecting service and/or quality of vendor service.
  • Embrace and participate in the improvement culture as a representative of the Inventory Management team.
  • Participate in training and development of Inventory Management staff in continuous improvement techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety practices and maintain hazard-free work area.
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure sourced items meet specifications and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and resolve issues impacting fill rates, service, quality, and costs.
  • Establish and maintain master data in ERP system.

Note: This location is not accessible by public transit. Access to a personal vehicle is required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
  • BA in Business, Science, or Supply Chain.
  • Thorough understanding and experience in inventory planning and stock replenishment.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in analyzing inventory levels, KPIs, market trends, pricing, and supplier performance.
  • Proficiency in identifying and evaluating potential new suppliers, negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing agreements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid comprehension and experience with MRP (Material Requirement Planning).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP systems (SAP would be an asset).
  • Experience in building and monitoring vendor scorecards.
  • Ability to evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Certification in supply chain (CPP/CSCP/CPIM etc.) would be an asset.

Pay:

  • $65,000-$74,000+ 14% bonus , benefits and 7% pension!
