Work Model: Hybrid 3 days in office.
Office Location: 81 Bay 16th Floor, downtown Toronto, close to TTC and GO
Work Schedule (hours per week, start time): 37.5 Hours/week, 9-5 Monday to Friday
Potential for OT? May be required to work overtime after hours or on the weekend.

Who Will the Candidate Be Working with on a Daily Basis?: They will be working with individuals who need technology assistance as well as other DBA's on the team.
Job Description:
• Proactive Performance and Capacity review
• Serve as SME (subject matter expert) for Microsoft SQL Server and Azure
• Perform database backup and restore functions including scheduled tests of DR availability, including knowledge of MS SQL restoration and availability technologies such as Clustering, Replication and especially Always-On.
• Accountable for day-to-day activities regarding the upkeep and availability of all Prod-Non Prod database servers
• SQL code-review for the application teams to enforce SQL coding standards and tune
• Builds and reports on SQL environment performance and availability metrics and takes appropriate actions to implement best practices and optimize performance.
• Assist in the technical analysis and design for current and future projects.
• Migrate the database from On-Prem to Azure
Must Have Requirement:
- 5+ Years' of SQL experience including T-SQL
- 2 or 3 years' of Azure database experience *Azure is priority although willing to consider other cloud experience
- 3+ years' Experience with large database and heavy transactions
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of API
- KeyVault experience would be great
- CDC experience also nice to have

Call Notes:
- Application Operations DBA - reviewing code and database performance and based on this they make recommendations.
- Soft Skills are very important
- Expert in terms of database
- Must know how large databases work and have experience with heavy transactions
- T-SQL experience is important
- The database they will be working on is 60 Terabytes in size
