Job Summary:
Join our team as a Performance Drilling Engineer in Calgary, AB. In this position, you will provide technical analysis on drilling data that provides customer insights into maximizing their drilling efficiency and contributes to NOV revenue growth through a clear value proposition of utilizing our products and services.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Subject matter expert providing Technical Sales support and energy loss and dysfunction in the wellbore
- Conversant at a technical level with all matters pertaining to well delivery
- During active assigned optimization projects, monitor performance results daily and highlight observations for drilling efficiencies to local teams to be documented and reported to the customer
- Participate in daily operations calls and provide assistance and support to the team as needed
- Analyze real-time and recorded-mode downhole data to understand inefficiencies in the drilling system to optimize drilling system performance
- Perform post-run analysis: highlighting insights gained, performance results, optimization recommendations (as required), and customer value
- Assist in turning product performance results into customer value, ensuring customer benefits are clearly stated and easily recognized
- Value definition creation for any MDT product, project, or service as required
- As a subject matter expert for specific products, present product capabilities & technical solution to customers providing deep insight into customer value and how their specific well programs can benefit from our technologies
- Resource for Sales to assist with customer discussions and material preparation to ensure the solution proposed meets customer-identified challenges
- Assist Sales and Operations refine customer scope of work with measurable metrics that can be quantified at project completion
- Sponsor preparation and presentation of technical articles and papers
- Provide training to the organization on drilling topics such as swab and surge and drilling dysfunction as well as an in-depth technical understanding of products
- Assist with the standardization of daily and post-well reporting of well and product performance that highlights product and customer value
- Domain expert on data QC, data merge, capable of rapid data turnaround for a specific client application in memory-only job
Qualification Requirements (Minimum Education and Experience):
Engineering/Relevant Technical Degree
Registration as a member in training or a member of APEGA
7+ Years industry experience
Advanced Drilling Dynamics and Drilling Optimization
Optimization Certification
Advanced Log Interpretation
Borehole Enlargement
Understand Drilling Tools applications and Drill String/BHA Components
