The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing aspects of daily production operations through personal interaction with plant employees, Lead hands and Supervisors ensuring production process run smoothly and efficiently and that floor response to immediate problems as well as it is handled in a timely, constructive manner. They delegate authority to key supervisors in production, manage all functions involved and direct and coordinate operations for the processing plant. Production Manager &/or Plant Manager in, managing and overseeing plant activities in order to maximize the safety, continuous improvement, quality, food safety and productivity of our plant. Promote a healthy work culture ensuring plant and employee safety and health as priority. Interact regularly with Production, Maintenance, Finance, Sanitation and Quality Control/Assurance, OH&S and HR Managers, utilizing daily manufacturing reports that capture manufacturing performance. Reviews, and monitors and reports on production key performance indicators, identified trends and makes recommendations to enhance productivity. Assists in directing the production planning and scheduling process by evaluating projected sales volumes, inventory requirements, and raw product availability, and ensures adequate supplies are on – hand to achieve production plan. Provide regular coaching, guidance and direction to production teams, meeting at least weekly/bi-weekly for one on one individual and departmental performance reviews. Monitors inventory levels for both raw and frozen products. Control departmental operating costs ensuring all product orders are produced on time with no shortfall in quality or quantity. Guides and assists subordinates in solving production problems and ensures high standards are adhered to for general maintenance, safety, and preventative maintenance. Recommends any changes in policies and procedures with a focus on continuous improvement and ensure HACCP, CFIA, GMP, BRC and all audit requirements are achieved and routinely adhered to. management studies, business) preferred.
