Airswift is seeking a Project Manager to join one of our major Mining clients on a 1-year contract with the possibility of being renewed. The role is based in the beautiful community of Kitimat, BC. This is a local opportunity with no travel, camp, LOA, or relocation package provided.

We are looking for a Project Manager to successfully deliver a number of small to medium-sized projects for a given plant Area(s) or program within cost, schedule, and quality in accordance to the client's requirements.

This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who has a strong work ethic and who enjoys working in a team environment. Working a Monday to Friday schedule (5/50), and under the guidance of the Area Leader and supervision of the Project Delivery Coordinator, the Project Manager will be responsible for:

Responsibilities

  • Providing HSE leadership to ensure the safety of employees and contractors while protecting the environment.
  • Delivering project management activities: early studies, engineering, operational readiness, construction, commissioning and handover to operations.
  • Set and maintain project budgets and schedules to meet internal and external commitments.
  • Engage and manage engineering service providers to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Prepare, review and issue tender documentation.
  • Source, procure and engage suppliers and specialized subcontractors.
  • Create and maintain project documentation in the different phases to meet Kitimat and Atlantic operations requirements.
  • Engage and manage area stakeholders to ensure alignment and the best solution is selected and implemented to meet the business requirements.
  • Preparing presentations to investment committee and participating at investment meetings.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote teamwork, excellence and team engagement.
  • Supporting a culture of continuous improvement in project management and control.
  • Developing constructive relationship and collaboration with team colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
  • Addressing issues and concerns in a positive and constructive manner with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
  • Engaging and progressing objectives and personal development plan with the Project Delivery Coordinator.
  • Leadership and people management skills, along with effective written and communications abilities.

Qualifications

  • University diploma in Engineering or a Technical college degree in a relevant field.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
  • An Engineer-In-Training with related experience can be considered.
  • Project management training (PMP or master's in project management) is a definitive asset.
  • Around at least 10 years of experience in construction/industrial environment.
  • A proven track record of site management with safety, customer service and financial responsibilities.
  • Sound understanding of project controls and project reporting requirements.
  • Managed 5M to 20M million-dollar multi-discipline projects.
  • Experience in managing and delivery of capital brownfield projects from concept to close-out
  • Proven commercial acumen.
  • Knowledge of the organisation's policies and standard practices.
  • Exposure to Rio Tinto project management framework is advantageous.

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 10-hour shifts, 50 hours/week.
  • This is a local opportunity with no travel, camp, LOA, or relocation package provided.

Airswift is on a task to find a Lead Electrical Designer to work on a long term contract with a client of ours within the industrial gases segment, in Houston, TX.

Contractors will be hired on as W2 and will be eligible to our benefits package. They will work under the direction of a Design Team Leader and will be a part of a small team, who will interface with counterparts in other engineering and design centers located in India, England, and China.

Contract extensions are possible depending on performance year on year.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing 3D CAD design models using Smart 3D (S3D) software tool and creating 2D drawings in Microstation and SmartSketch for construction packages.
  • Types of Electrical design models and drawings will include a variety of drawing types, including but not limited to single line development, Medium and Low voltage cable sizing and schedules, medium and low voltage electrical control schematic, wiring interconnections, junction and control box design, heat trace systems design and layout, etc
  • Responsible for creating S3D models of cable tray layouts, underground conduit layouts, grounding/earthing layouts, lighting layouts, junction box and control station locations, etc.
  • In addition to using S3D, the individual will learn how to obtain relevant information, review vendor & equipment drawings, understand design criteria, and read project documents
  • Create S3D models for cable tray layouts, underground conduit systems, grounding systems, lighting layouts, junction box locations, electrical building layouts, and receptacle/control station layouts
  • Complete detailed design drawings for electrical distribution and control systems
  • Create Electrical drawings for site construction activities
  • Review vendor submittals and equipment reference drawings
  • Check drawings for accuracy and format
  • Interface with other Design teams Civil/Structural, Piping, Stress Analysis, Mechanical & Machinery, etc

Qualifications

  • Technical school education with CAD or associate degree in Drafting
  • Minimum 2-5 years of CAD experience in modeling & creating design drawings using software tools such as AutoCAD, S3D, Frameworks, MicroStation, Solidworks, or other 3D software
  • Experience with Smart 3D and SmartSketch is required
  • Willingness to learn new CAD software tools
  • Willingness to learn electrical distribution and control concepts
  • Create and populate 2D drawings from 3D models with guidance from discipline leads
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently over time
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
