We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to fill the position of Construction Manager (Industrial and Infrastructure) in Southern Ontario.

About the role

  • The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing all onsite activities in the delivery of a new greenfield industrial processing plant, ensuring successful delivery of the project schedule, budget, design conformance, and Ausenco objectives;
  • Ensure that the site runs according to project plans with appropriately skilled staff available at the required times to complete construction tasks;
  • Unwavering dedication to safety and proven ability to achieve construction deadlines;
  • Provide hands on management and lead a small site team of trade supervisors and engineering support personnel during construction;
  • Manage the construction work and sub-contractors in accordance with the anticipated 24-month project schedule and project budget;
  • Govern all quality assurance and testing for the project;
  • Maintain a professional and functional relationship with client personnel and internal project managers;
  • Ensure industrial relations issues are properly managed and not allowed to escalate;
  • Key support for the Project Manager as a member of the Project Leadership Team.

About you

  • Progressive construction experience with at least 10 - 15 years' experience supervising large multi-disciplined industrial projects from foundations to commissioning;
  • Previous experience with roles in the general contractor space is a must;
  • Strong understanding of civil earthworks including rock removal and large bore underground process piping;
  • Inspection of large-scale foundation formwork, reinforcing steel and rock anchors;
  • Experience with multi-storey steel installation and elevated equipment installation and rigging;
  • Supervision of process piping systems, equipment, pumps, tanks and controls;
  • Review of electrical distribution systems including transformers, switchgear, VFD's, MCC rooms and cable trays;
  • Experience in commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems;
  • Contracting experience including management of resources and equipment;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to proactively drive site solutions with contractors and engineers;
  • Strong leadership and teambuilding abilities;
  • Highly organized and effective communicator.
