ADMINISTRATION

NorQuesters are difference makers and we're searching for someone who will find ways forward to join our Business Enterprises team as a Business Operations Specialist.

At The Core we are undergoing a transformation into a modern retail operation, featuring both brick-and-mortar spaces and e-commerce capabilities. We introduce new products through carefully curated launches designed to appeal to both our internal and external communities.

As The Core continues to evolve, we are exploring and implementing innovative initiatives. This includes collaborating with local creators for marketplace events and other exciting ventures. Amidst these evolving priorities, the role of Business Operations Specialist stands out as a dynamic position within The Core team.

Reporting to the Team Lead, The Core, this role centers on crucial operational aspects, such as visual merchandising, product design, events management, and the maintenance of e-commerce operations. The overarching goal is to craft a memorable experience for our learners and community, thereby elevating the NorQuest College brand.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Support the day-to-day operations at The Core with understanding of the point-of-sale system, managing in store customer experiences, online ordering queue and coordination of inventory counts.
  • Develop visually appealing and innovative displays that showcase merchandise effectively.
  • Create and implement layout plans for product displays, considering traffic flow and customer engagement.
  • Ensure that displays adhere to brand guidelines, arrange and present products in an attractive manner to highlight key features and encourage sales.
  • Generate creative and innovative design concepts for new products or improvements to existing ones by analyzing market trends and competitor products to identify opportunities and gaps.
  • As a key event planner, responsibilities include coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on event details, effectively communicating with stakeholders to address concerns, contributing to the development of marketing materials for events, and evaluating events post-implementation to gather feedback for improvement.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the ecommerce websites including new layouts and templates, pictures, product description. Collaborate with vendor to troubleshoot any website issues and implement fix.
  • Develop and manage budgets for visual merchandising initiatives, including fixtures, props, and display materials.
  • Source cost-effective materials and solutions without compromising quality.
  • Be adaptable to accommodate evening and weekend hours, as the demands of the business may change over time.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Related diploma in Design, Marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Some related experience in visual merchandising within the retail industry.

WHAT MAKES YOU A DIFFERENCE MAKER?

  • Knowledgeable with managing an e-commerce platform and good understanding of the ecommerce ecosystem.
  • Some related experience with leading and planning for live events, with 100+ attendees.
  • Strong creativity and a keen eye for design.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with various design platforms such as Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and Canva is an asset.
  • Capacity to analyze challenges, identify solutions, and implement them effectively.

SALARY: $49,129 - $63,854 annually reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full time, permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
