Job Summary:

We are currently hiring a Revenue Accounting Supervisor to join Summit Aviation on a full-time permanent basis based out of Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for broad accounting and billing supervisory tasks including oversight of Billing Administrators and Revenue Accountants, guiding collections activities, provision of relevant accounts receivable reporting and metrics, and month-end accounting responsibilities.

The Revenue Accounting Supervisor provides recommendations and implements various process enhancements for the billing, collections, and accounting activities. This position will see you lead a team of 4 direct reports so proven experience leading teams will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and apply best practices for the preparation of Summit Air's charter flight invoices, along with client chargebacks, in Excel
  • Develop & review processes for potential improvement opportunities, and manage a program of continuous improvement
  • Manages, guides, and mentors a small revenue accounting team including reviewing the work of revenue accounting and billing staff to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Provides guidance on how to amend invoices to resolve issues
  • Distributing weekly reports of Summit Air invoicing and collections metrics to Summit Air Leadership team
  • Oversee an ongoing collections program and provide guidance to staff on best collections practices
  • Work closely with Commercial team to provide support to resolve customer disputes or address inquiries from customers regarding invoices or billing process
  • Collaborate closely with the Assistant Controller to ensure month-end journal entries, including revenue accruals, partnership commissions, and intercompany entries are completed in a timely manner
  • Provide support and leadership to a team of 4 direct reports, monitoring workload, performance and career development

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in accounting, with a focus on revenue and billing activities
  • 1+ years' experience in a supervisory role will be required
  • High level of proficiency in all MS Office programs with the ability to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data and perform advanced functions within Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in working with large amount of data
  • Good understanding of collections best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Work Conditions:

  • This position will mainly be work from home with 1-2 days per week in office
  • Some travel to Summit bases within Canada may be required from time to time
