Sofina Foods is one of Canada's leading manufacturers of primary and further processed protein products for retail and foodservice customers as well as international markets. We manufacture pork, beef, turkey, chicken and fish products in Canada and Europe. Our family of brands include: Cuddy, Lilydale, Janes, Mastro, San Daniele, Fletcher's, Vienna, Riserva and Zamzam in Canada; and Youngs, Greenland and Karro's in UK. We are also the exclusive Canadian distributor of Italy's finest Rio Mare, Lavazza products and Kicking Horse Coffee in Canada.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the VP, Operations will have full responsibility of Sofina Foods across multiple sites. Together working closely with supply chain, engineering, human resources, quality and food safety, the VP, Operations will help Sofina to realize its operational goals.

Key Accountabilities:

• Leading manufacturing to achieve best-in-class operational excellence while helping with the integration of all plants and brands under one corporate strategy.
• Clearly communicate the plant and operations vision, translate it into practicable, tactical actions, and effectively deploy the operations team against those activities,
• Build a high performing manufacturing organization; attract, develop, and retain the best talent possible within the function and throughout the organization.
• Hands on coaching of Plant Managers and Supervisors
• Build strong partnerships and establish credibility with the internal team, building respect based upon demonstrated leadership skills and functional excellence. Seek expertise of internal stakeholders as appropriate.
• Introduce greater visibility to results inclusive of KPIs and broader manufacturing analytics to measure performance against commitments and actively use results to redirect resources as required;
• Actively partner with strategic suppliers to ensure two-way, collaborative relationships that deliver greater levels of innovation and operational competitive advantage than could be achieved independently;
• Partner in the innovation process, injecting analytics to improve product life cycle management and new product introduction;
• Actively participate as a key member of the operations leadership team to help drive the company's supply chain and operations strategy;
• Proven experience in using data (KPIs) in a measurable way to achieve a specific strategic result that is relevant to the organization. Brings strong analytical skills to develop, measure and improve operational, financial, quality and cycle time performance indicators.
• Experience in developing a strategic plan for a plant or in a multi-site operations scenario that aligns with the corporate strategies;
• Mastery in problem solving skills, continuous improvement tools, coaching skills and on the floor leadership.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering or related field
• MBA is preferred
• At least 7 years at a leadership level with multi-site manufacturing responsibility
• Food manufacturing industry experience is desired
• Plant Manager experience is a must
