A key role in the development of RAMP Automation's custom automated equipment, the Project Manager is responsible for administration of multiple engineering projects within the constraints of scope, quality, time and cost to deliver specified requirements and meet customer satisfaction. Coordinates timely activity, integration, productivity and efficient use of resources to meet requirements.
Job Description
- Required to work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with our Health and Safety and Other Policies
- Responsible for all elements of project management from receipt of purchase order to final acceptance
- Coordinate interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project on schedule and within budget constraints and agreed tolerances
- Liaise with customer, establishing and maintaining single point contact to ascertain satisfaction with progress and performance
- Examine technical documentation for completeness and latest version
- Establish, log and distribute customer requirements in accordance with the approved contract
- Monitor the project status, establish and update plans with actual and forecast, coordinate corrective action to control deviations from the plan
- Advise the project team and management of significant changes in project status
- Negotiate terms/conditions/price or delivery in accordance with management objectives understanding trade-off between scope, quality, time, and cost
- Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation in accordance with established practices
- Maintain positive relations with customers, suppliers and project teams
- Stores data (specifications, quotes, estimates, drawings etc.) according to CAID Automation's standards
- Track and report monthly progress including realistic forecasts of final target positions
Position Requirements
- Ability to anticipate and proactively plan for project related issues
- General knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, servo controls, PLCs and robotic equipment
- Able to read, understand specifications, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong working knowledge of MS Project, MS Word, Excel. AutoCAD an asset
- Knowledge and working experience in an ISO 9001 environment
- Excellent organizational skills in a multi-disciplined and multi-projected environment
- Goal oriented and action focused
Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Post-Secondary education in Engineering, specializing in Mechanical Design or equivalent (BSME degree is preferred)
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in an engineering role within the field of industrial automation
- 2-3 years of experience in Project Management
- Must have a valid passport and driver's license, as well as the ability to travel to customer sites both locally and internationally
- Must be available to travel 10% of the time
