Company Tax Accountant - Cornwall / Remote - Circa: £50,000
*Please note that whilst this role can be operated on a predominantly remote arrangement some travel to Mid Cornwall will be required. Applicants for the role should be based in the Southwest of England*
Trial Balance Consulting have been exclusively retained by a long standing client, one of the fastest growing and most successful retail/e-commerce companies in Cornwall and one with impeccable staff retention and development credentials. The business currently seeks to recruit an inter-company tax specialist, a newly created role that would be equally suited to a Corporate Tax Senior seeking a move to industry from practice, or an established inter-company tax/treasury specialist. The role is offered as a permanent, full time contract and can be operated on a predominantly remote basis for those that seek it.
This will be an interesting and unusual role with a high performing company and works as part of an experienced and comprehensive finance team. The successful candidate will assume a key role in all areas of company tax and treasury and act as a key point of contact internal and external stakeholders. Core focus of the role:
- Take a lead responsibility in all aspects of Corporation Tax and VAT reporting
- Quickly adapt to changing tax policy and consider budget and forecasting implications
- Tax orientated risk monitoring
- Develop and implement streamlining processes to improve tax focussed systems
- Quarterly tax reporting
- Analysing tax payments on account
- Assume key responsibility for cash management strategy
- Work to ensure UK and European customs requirements are adhered
- Manage multi-currency purchasing and working capital management
- Cashflow forecasting
- Creating and managing multi-currency banking provisions
- Regularly liaise with external auditors and tax consultants
For this role personality is key as the successful candidate will act a key point of contact for tax enquiries across the business, internally and externally. The Company Tax Accountant is likely to hold a professional qualification (CTA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA), and will need to have broad range of taxation knowledge gain in either practice or internal business tax. Whilst not essential, prior experience gained in a services, retail or e-commerce setting would be highly desirable. The position will call for a candidate with strong technical taxation/treasury knowledge and an up-to-date understanding of current UK tax law.You'll need strong knowledge in statutory frameworks and very strong IT skills. It's going to be a challenging, but extremely rewarding position where the successful candidate will be an essential point of contact for all queries and support assistance.
