Role Overview
A contract opportunity for a Senior Accountant experienced in month-end reporting. The employment contract is offered for an eight (8) month term to fill a temporary vacancy. This position will report to the Corporate Controller and will be responsible for assisting in various projects that relate to daily and month-end accounting activities, financial reporting, and analysis.
The Senior Accountant position is based in our Vancouver office and forms an integral part of our accounting and finance function for a rapidly growing company. This position works collaboratively across our Canadian and US-based teams supporting the financial reporting function and advancement of our projects.

Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly reporting packages for the Company's business units
• Assist in monthly accounting close process including preparation of account reconciliations, preparation of monthly journal entries and monthly accounting reports and working papers
• Work closely with Accounts Payable and Procurement team
• Prepare accounting analysis as required
• Prepare and set up payments through banks.
• Work with internal and external auditors
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies in the accounting processes
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
• A bachelor's degree, CPA accounting designation or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of three (3) years accounting work experience, preferably with a public company
• Experience with SAP as well as US GAAP and SOX considered an asset
• Ability to pay close attention to detail
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
