Our client is looking for an SAP Cutover Lead.
- Start date: ASAP
- Languages: English, French is an asset
- Term: 1 year (possibility to extend for another year as needed)
- Location: Quebec or Ontario
- Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week
The IT Cut Over Lead is a technology expert with strong project management skills and specifically system cutover experience to drive the Cutover activities for the SAP implementation program that the client is currently in the process of deploying as a corporate standard ERP solution. In addition to including the Cutover activities, this role also includes things like a pre go-live readiness checks, mock cutovers, business activities, health checks and end user readiness.
The Cut Over Lead will help lead the cutover activities for the SAP roll out team, in addition to potentially working on non-SAP related projects (e.g. roll back plan, business contingency plan) that work in conjunction with SAP.
Principal Responsibilities
- Develop and own the overall technology cutover plans for migration of the client SAP implementation into production to support the business in meeting their objectives.
- Work with project and program workstreams to plan and develop detailed cutover plans, which include both technical and functional steps to be executed during the deployment phase.
- Develop and drive a plan with limited oversight and direction
- Work closely with the Project Management Office and the Organizational Change Management team to meet stakeholder expectations.
- Provide timely escalation to IT leadership where necessary.
- Establish and communicate the overall Deployment plan with senior stakeholders such as program management, business unit leads and the CIO.
- Identify risks, cross application dependencies and downstream impacts for each release.
- Determine go-live readiness criteria, socialize them with key stakeholders and obtain requisite approvals.
- Manage the scope and schedule of cutover activities, ensuring the plan identifies tasks to stop in legacy systems and start in S/4, and ensures the plan clearly defines the tasks to validate that all the processes, interfaces and systems are considered.
- Manage risks and issues associated with the cutover and prepare appropriate mitigation plans.
- Provide detailed back out options for severe contingencies.
- Ensure compliance with IT processes including proper documentation and securing approvals of requisite changes through our Change Advisory Board process.
- Liaise with the functional SAP experts and business teams in order to assist with the planning and execution of Deployment activities.
- Assist in presenting system improvements to the division(s). Verify new system updates work correctly.
- Provide support as part of the go-live hypercare team.
- Ensure SAP data is accurate, and errors are identified and cleaned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor degree in computer Science, management or equivalent
- At least 3 years prior experience developing and implementing highly complex technical cutover schedules and plans for large SAP implementations
- Familiarity with SAP Deployment and Cutover methodology
- Strong skills in deployment planning from a technical and functional perspective
- Strong ability in managing complex and sensitive consultations and negotiations with diverse stakeholders within agreed timelines
- Proven ability in identifying interdependencies and balancing competing demands to ensure project objectives are achieved
- Ability to manage by influence within and across various IT and business disciplines
- Project management experience
- Understanding of database design & queries
- Able to use SQL, MySQL, MS Office suite
- Analytical/ problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels of employees within a multicultural environment
- SAP knowledge - must have experience in one of the core SAP modules
- Ability to read, write and speak fluent English, French is an asset
- General knowledge of the manufacturing industry and the functions that are required
- Nice to have - EDI knowledge within the manufacturing industry
Travel
20 to 30% may be required for specific workshops, meetings and potentially during go-live
Must have Work Authorization for Canada.
