Job Brief:

The Accounting Technician will be responsible for supporting the Controller in maintaining daily cash transactions and assist with ensuring the credibility of financial data.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation of weekly and monthly cash accounts.
  • Reconciliation of payable and receivable accounts.
  • Investigation of discrepancies in reconciliations, involving regular communication with payable and receivable departments.
  • Completing necessary journal entries and postings pertaining to reconciliations.
  • Support the finance department with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support the finance department with general administrative duties (i.e.: filing, running reports, etc.).
  • Administration of company credit cards
  • Completion of general projects as required.
  • Participation and compliance with company safety program by attending and participating in monthly safety meeting.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess strong math and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while displaying a polite and tactful manner to fellow employees and clients.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize based on deadlines.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Experience in a similar role would be an asset.
  • Familiarity with Oil and Gas service industry is an asset.

Education:

  • Accounting Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration or related discipline.
