ROBOTICS/TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION TEACHER

Part-time (0.375 FTE) Term position

Academy – West Vancouver Secondary School

Effective September 3, 2024 until June 30, 2025

The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $50,000 to $104,000, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.

Required Qualifications and Experience

A part-time Robotics/Technology Education position is available. The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:

• Knowledge in the area of technology and ability to integrate technology into the curriculum
• Experience programming robots using blocks, C/C++ and Python
• Knowledge and experience in VEX IQ robot system
• Knowledge and experience in VEX EDR robot system
• Experience in coaching and managing a competitive environment involving a variety of team dynamics
• Possess excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents
• Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and proven ability, commitment and drive to work cooperatively and effectively with other educators in a collegial team setting;
• An ability to use a variety of teaching and learning strategies that can accommodate the learning needs of all types of learners;
• A proven ability to develop a positive learning environment in the classroom and evidence of strong organization and classroom management skills;
• Hold a valid teaching certificate and be a member in good standing with the Teachers' Regulation Branch;
